Interior Designer at Mewscraft, Monmouth - March 2017 –  September 2020, freelance in December 2020

Working at Mewscraft as a commercial interior designer allowed me to work on a variety of projects varying from independent opticians and health centres, to animal rehoming centres and office spaces. My role included:

Interior Designer at Wylde IA, Bristol - September 2016 – March 2017

I joined Wylde IA as maternity cover for a designer at the company. Projects there included: the refit of a stately house in Corsham by turning it into a business centre, the head offices of an online transport ticket seller in London and the refurbishment of an office space at Aztec West in Bristol.

Designer at Richmond International, London - November 2015 – September 2016

In the time spent at this hospitality design specialist studio, I was involved mainly in the CAD side of the design process. I created drawing packages for scheme, preliminary and construction stages of a 5-star hotel renovation and refurbishment project in Ireland. I specifically worked on designing the guestrooms for the new hotel extension, the new clubhouse and the re-design of the spa area within the existing manor house.

Interior Designer at Foster+Partners, London - February 2014 – November 2015

I was very fortunate to take part in projects spanning across the globe at F+P. As interior designer, I operated alongside the architects on these projects as well as working solely within an interiors team. My role consisted of:

  • Developing concept design for residential apartments, a private spa, entrance lobby, first class and business class processing areas and a first class lounge in an airport setting
  • Producing CAD drawings for scheme and detail packages, and working on interior FF&E specifications
  • Producing material for client presentations as well as building sketch models and creating visuals for concept development
  • Meeting and communication with clients, suppliers and consultants for projects

Junior Designer at Phillips Design Studio, London - April – October 2013

During my time at PDS, I found myself heavily involved with the high-end residential projects the company had taken on. As a junior designer for the small company, I found myself taking part in projects from concept to detailing, from surveying sites to final snags before completion. I also helped to set up a brand identity and used social media to help promote the company.

Freelance Designer at Mirco & Mirco Interiors, Bournemouth - July 2011 – December 2012

This freelance job comprised of working on design briefs, developing concepts with the interior designers and producing technical drawings.

Work Placement at United Designers, London - November – December 2011

During my placement at United, I worked on both hotel and high-end residential projects. I found myself being involved in project development, putting together presentation packages, producing CAD drawings, meetings with material suppliers and general maintenance of office supplies.

Summer Placement at GLS Design, Surrey - July – August 2011

On my summer placement at GLS, I worked on live exhibition design projects for Aston Martin, Nissan and Triumph. I presented concepts to clients, worked on graphic presentations and I was allowed to design an exhibition stand for a marble supplier in Verona, Italy.
